FigureTwo is reimagining scholarly figures — turning static charts into accessible, interactive, and data-linked visuals that power reproducibility and open discovery. We’re an early-stage startup building the next generation of tools for researchers to create and publish beautiful, transparent, and FAIR-compliant scholarly figures.

We’re pre-funding but have:

• A working MVP with live figure creation tools
• Positive validation from early academic and publishing stakeholders
• 30+ years of collective experience in scholarly publishing

We’re seeking a Founding Full-Stack Engineer to be the technical owner and driver of our new product experience. You will be joining the founding team and lead technical development and architecture decisions to co-create a platform that helps researchers around the world communicate data with clarity.

What you’ll do:

• Lead development of the product and the engineering team.
• Own technical architecture and infrastructure decisions (stack is flexible, but we are currently using TypeScript, React, MongoDB, Node.js, Vega).
• Integrate AI/ML components (e.g. LLMs for extracting structure from images or suggesting chart types).
• Collaborate closely with founders on product strategy, design, and customer discovery.
