Are you passionate about data, CRM systems, and customer engagement? We’re looking for a CRM & Data Executive to join our team at First News. This exciting role will focus on managing and optimising our CRM systems and customer data journeys, driving customer acquisition, retention, and engagement.

Role Overview

The CRM and Data Executive will be responsible for managing and optimising First News’ CRM systems and customer data journeys. This role requires a data-driven individual who can leverage CRM tools to build meaningful customer relationships. Working closely with marketing, operations, developers and finance, the successful candidate will improve customer acquisition, retention, and engagement through effective data management strategies and campaigns.

2+ years’ experience desirable.

Key Responsibilities

Data Management

Maintain and optimise existing data journeys for both schools and family audiences to enable First News to continue delivering lead-generation, acquisition, and retention campaigns.

Ensure schools and family leads, and subscribers receive the correct communications via subscription bureaus and HubSpot.

 

 

 

Extract insights from data and use smart data segmentation to improve performance (e.g., identifying ‘super-users’ vs. disengaged users).

Make data-led recommendations to enhance performance across all customer journeys.

Build new data sets and support the marketing team to create new workflows when needed.

Conduct regular data maintenance to ensure data is accurate, accessible, and consistent across systems.

Keep up-to-date with GDPR guidelines.

Monitor subscription lifecycle stages and proactively address churn risks through data-driven interventions.

 

CRM Management

Support the marketing team in planning and implementing CRM journeys that build loyalty among new and existing subscribers.

Maintain workflows, dynamic email lists, filters, and automation rules for CRM campaigns.

Create subscription-specific CRM campaigns, including onboarding, renewal reminders, and customer engagement campaigns.

Help to automate customer touchpoints, including payment reminders and service updates.

 

Reporting

Deliver monthly reporting for schools and family campaigns, supporting the marketing team in report generation.

Analyse data and share recommendations for campaign improvements.

Manage HubSpot reporting, collaborating with teams to create report templates and dashboards that measure performance against targets.

Track subscription metrics, including retention rates, average revenue per user (ARPU), and lifetime value (LTV).

 

Team Collaboration

Actively participate in team meetings by sharing updates on CRM and data-related tasks and projects.
Apply feedback from data reviews and quality checks to enhance data management practices and reporting standards.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure data-driven solutions align with strategic goals.

Provide guidance to teams on CRM and data management best practices.

 

Essential Skills & Experience

Experience in subscription-based business models and recurring revenue management.

Background in data segmentation and marketing automation.

CRM experience (preferably with HubSpot).

Analytical mindset: ability to interpret data and identify trends.

Self-starter with initiative and a logical problem-solving approach.

 

Desirable Skills

Experience with HubSpot

Experience with BI tools

Familiarity with subscription fulfilment systems eg: Integra, Myriad

B2C and/or B2B (schools) experience
