The Role  

This is the dream role for creative dashboard developers! As our Junior Data Visualization Developer, you will be designing and developing analytics solutions that showcase the value and capabilities of Vizlib technology for customers, prospects, and partners across various verticals and horizontal functions. Reporting into and working closely with our VP of Industry Solutions you will be liaising with various teams at Vizlib across Sales, Marketing, and Product to understand the market desires, adapt existing showcase dashboards, and build new dashboards from scratch.

 

You love pulling together compelling dashboards, graphs, & charts to provide people with detailed intelligence and interesting insights driving action and making a difference. Most importantly, you can take your creativity and empathy, and put them into action to build engaging showcases, help improve data literacy through best practices, and demonstrate solutions that illustrate the art of the possible.

You’re well-versed in the modern data technologies, applications, and practices for the collection, integration, analysis, and presentation of business information to drive better decision-making and will advise us, our customers, and prospects enthusiastically.

Not just comfortable with, but passionate about, different types of data e.g. public datasets, spreadsheets, APIs, data mocking tools, etc. You’ll be comfortable across all aspects of solution development, from user research and solution planning to design, coding, testing, storytelling, and sharing newly developed use cases.

 

The Requirements 

  • 1-3 years’ experience as a Data Visualization Developer / BI Developer
  • Expertise building with leading analytics tools (preferably Tableau, Microsoft PowerBI, or Qlik Sense)
  • SQL or Data Warehousing experience (preferably Snowflake, Google Big Query, Dremio, PostgreSQL, Databricks, dbt)
  • User-centered design mindset
    Comfortability generating and mocking up realistic datasets
  • Strong skills in dashboard design, reporting, and data storytelling
  • A desire to co-develop solutions with coworkers, partners, and customers
  • Experience with data mining and knowledge of ML is a plus
  • An appreciation of various internal departments and their needs from a data visualization perspective e.g. Finance, Sales, Marketing, HR, and so on.
  • BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant field
  • Beneficial: skills in video editing, prototyping/wireframes, social media marketing
