The Annalect Data Science team is hiring a full stack developer with a focus on data visualization using D3.js. This position is Full-Time and based in New York City, though we are open to remote candidates (US-only).
This role will be contributing to a data science web application as a full stack developer. You will be working directly within the Annalect data science team to build out a dynamic set of data analytics tools. While most of the work focuses on the JavaScript front end of the application, experience in Python and SQL is highly advantageous. In addition to gaining experience in application development, this role exposes you to the world of big data. You will provide valuable contributions to a company serving one of the largest media organizations in the world. We are seeking a highly motivated individual with a passion for building useful tools and a desire to grow a career in development.
Build custom reusable web components for data science applications to improve the efficiency of future work.
Assist in the development of data visualization dashboards.
Help maintain an existing codebase through testing and user support.
Develop new features to enhance user experience.
Utilize python API to connect data science utilities to the front-end application.
Qualifications
· 1-2 years of experience in data science or other professional experience.
· Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
· Familiarity with web components and the shadow DOM.
· Basic understanding of responsive layout techniques such as CSS grid, flexbox and media queries.
· Foundational experience programming in Python.
· Strong communication and organizational skills.
Bonus skills and experience (not required but nice to have):
· D3 (preferred) or other data visualization libraries
· Node.js
· Redux or other state management frameworks
· React, Angular, or other component-based frameworks
· SQL
· Docker
· AWS Products (S3, API Endpoint, Lambda, etc.)
