What is special about this role:

As the first data visualization engineer at Helix, you will pioneer the discipline working on high-impact datasets and novel products. You will work alongside design, engineering, and product teammates that are collaborating towards powering a better understanding of our collective health.

As a Data Visualization Engineer, you will:

• Lead Helix’s data visualization efforts by simplifying access to data.
• Build compelling dashboards that enable actionable insights for our customers.
• Work closely with Helix’s Science, Product, and Operations teams to develop clear data views for complex domains.
• Develop a strong domain understanding of genomics, infectious disease, and healthcare data at large.
• Enable internal teams to build dashboards using advanced analytics, interactive design patterns, and aesthetic best practices to tell the story within the data.
• Work with other data engineers and scientists to transform complex datasets into clean interfaces that power visualizations.
• Automate report generation and delivery to our customers and internal stakeholders.
• Develop code from prototype to production, ad hoc to high availability.
• Mentor other engineers to reinforce a culture of learning and teaching.
