Website State of Oregon: Legislative Policy and Research Office

Come work with Oregon’s Legislative Policy and Research Office (LPRO)! Our mission is to provide professional nonpartisan staffing, analysis, and research that supports and informs the policymaking process. The LPRO team is a collaborative group of colleagues who spur one another on to excellence and support each other’s success. We take pride in serving all of Oregon’s 90 legislators and the people of the state well.

This recruitment is for a GIS and Data Visualization Analyst, who will design, execute, and present spatial and other data analyses to inform policy development and evaluation by the members of the Legislative Assembly. This position works closely with LPRO legislative and research analysts through a team-based staffing model to support committees, task forces, and workgroups and respond to legislators’ research requests.

This position provides technical consultation to legislators and LPRO staff, serves in a supportive role across policy areas, and assists with a wide array of geospatial policy research and other requests with visual display components, ensuring high-quality and timely data-informed products and services.

The work of the GIS and Data Visualization Analyst allows for a hybrid work schedule (partly on-site, partly telework) dependent on time of year. During legislative sessions, LPRO employees typically work on-site to serve the assembly and staff. However, this position has flexibility for telework depending on work assignments and legislative needs. When the legislature is not in session, this position is eligible for teleworking and a flexible work schedule.

We encourage you to explore the position description provided to determine if your education and work history are comparable to those listed.  If so, and you are ready to engage in shaping and instituting this exciting new position, please apply.
