CSIRO is Australia’s national science agency, carrying out research and science for Australia’s national benefit in a wide variety of science domains.
This role provides scientific data analytics and visualisation expertise to members of CSIRO’s research community and has two main components:
- Providing research groups with expertise and support to address their data analytics and visualisation needs. This includes the development of software solutions and data workflows across a range of resources including CSIRO’s high-performance computing and data visualisation systems.
- Providing expert guidance on third party visualisation applications, tools and frameworks, including their recommendation, selection, training, demonstration and use across a range of scientific disciplines.
The successful candidate must be an Australian citizen and will work in a supportive environment with a high level of autonomy to collaborate with scientists on projects that span the full range of CSIRO science. Some examples of projects include analysing and visualising multi-layered genomic datasets, geospatial mapping of water bird flight paths, 3D modelling of fluid-dynamical systems, and developing an interactive visualisation to identify priority areas for urban heat mitigation and management of urban forests.
