Responsibilities:

Designs and executes high-value data analytics in an agile environment, utilizing rigorous research and data collection methods to learn, optimize and share project outcomes and impact

Contributes to the development and implementation of Purpose’s data strategy, including adoption of more efficient and scalable data practices

Builds tools and processes to collect, manage, interrogate and extract data to supply tailored reports to colleagues, partners, or Purpose staff

Consistently provides data-driven, actionable insights to inform decision making

Provides guidance on data collection, analysis, and management to teammates across functions and global offices

Confidently presents and facilitates discussion of data analysis results and data products to clients, partners, and other non-technical audiences in a clear and well-structured manner; engages in broader project context discussion, planning and problem solving

Proactively supports business development opportunities, including developing compelling technical and analytic approaches to client needs and opportunities

The ideal candidate will have:

Experience organizing and analyzing multiple data sources in a SQL database, including owning a codebase of well-documented, testable code demonstrating best practices for efficiently managing and maintaining integrity of data

Hands-on experience developing visually compelling reports and/or dashboards that tell a clear story in Google Data Studio, Looker, or similar platform

Hands-on experience communicating complex analytic results and methodologies in a simple way for non-technical audiences

Experience ingesting a wide range of quantitative and qualitative raw data sets, conducting exploratory data analysis, analyzing the data to draw conclusions, and developing actionable insights

A passion for progressive issue-based or electoral activism and a belief in Purpose’s work combining storytelling, evidence, and innovation to inspire people to remake the world

A track record of working in agile, entrepreneurial environments similar to a tech startup, campaign, advocacy organization, agency or consultancy

Demonstrated experience working in a collaborative environment, with the ability to manage projects effectively while maintaining positive & respectful relationships

Clear approaches to research, data analysis, and measurement & evaluation that center diversity, equity, and inclusion while also meeting project needs, and further our commitment to producing positive social impact

Exposure to Python and R helpful, but not required

Experience with data engineering tools, such as dbt, Fivetran, Snowflake, Airflow, or similar tools helpful, but not required

Familiarity with A/B testing, experimentation, and/or statistical analysis helpful, but not required

Our tech stack includes:

Airtable
Multiple quantitative and qualitative data collection tools/platforms (integrated using APIs)

More Information

Location: Global, but strong preference for candidates in the US, UK, India, Brazil, or Australia. This role has an option to be fully remote, or to work out of any Purpose office.

Reports to: Levi Braslow, Global Head of Impact, Measurement & Learning

Salary: $100,000 – 130,000. If outside of the U.S., salaries will be commensurate with market value depending on country. This is a full-time exempt position.
