Art and design university in London

The Lecturer in Visual Communication, Information and Data Design will collaboratively lead and support the development of curricula, teaching and learning on the MA Data Visualisation in the Graphic Design Communication Programme at London College of Communication, part of University of the Arts London.

You will play a significant role in the delivery of a practice-led course where students research, interpret, critique and visualise data using a range of media, tools and techniques. The course supports students initiating and delivering a research-led body of enquiry in the field of data and visualisation – engaging with the social and ethical implications of this practice and developing a highly informed critical position.

You will work collaboratively within the course team, deploying specialist expertise to develop pedagogy and the curriculum in innovative and critical directions. We recognise that data visualisation is an emergent and evolving field so are keen to hear from a range of candidates interested in applying their academic or professional experience within the field of visual communication information and data design and design research to the role. This is, primarily, a teaching and learning position, so an understanding of the context of art and design higher education in the UK and an interest in developing experience in this area is a key attribute we are looking for.
