The DataFace is looking for a data viz developer to join our growing agency! You’ll help concept, prototype, and build data visualizations and websites for our clients.

About the Role

• You’ll write the code (in HTML / CSS / JavaScript) that brings client projects to life.
• You’ll improve the team’s development process and instill best practices into our workflow.
• You’ll offer feedback to our design team as they create wireframes and mockups for clients.
• You’ll help shape the creative vision for client projects in their infancy.

Essential Skills:

• Deep knowledge of D3.js and data viz best practices.
• Experience building interactive, data-driven visualizations and websites.
• Demonstrated comfort with a frontend framework (we use Svelte).

Moderately Important:

• Basic data analysis skills in Python, R, Tableau, or a similar tool.
• Strong writing skills and a sixth-sense for storytelling.
• Ability to manage a fast-paced environment where you’ll juggle multiple projects at once.

Nice to Have:

• A keen eye for design, particularly as it pertains to data viz.
• Experience working in a newsroom’s graphics department.
