We’re looking for a middleweight freelance research & editorial mind with some light technical skills for a 3 day a week contract role.

You’re likely a:

Versatile writer You’re happy with writing blog posts, doing research, gathering data, as you are sculpting and scheduling social media.

A curious person with broad interests. And a hunger for knowing. Alongside high attention to detail and big love of spreadsheets.

Tech-savvy happy to research technical solutions, web integrations, Zoom plugins etc. Comfortable in WordPress. Happy with AirTable. Down with Trello.

Demonstrably interested in the dataviz & infographic scene would be helpful.

A follower, familiar with IIB’s work and ethos. You’re into what we do and want to see more and be involved in creating more

Self-motivating, independent and able to work remotely. We are 100% remote and all work flexitime, asynchronous.

PLUSES / HELPFUL (BUT NOT DEAL-BREAKERS)
: experience with Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop (or other graphics package)
: degree / experience in journalism, PR or marketing
: experienced in story-driven or project-management environment
: creative ideas person with a visual eye

DUTIES / CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
You’ll be working directly with author & IIB founder David McCandless on

: data research – finding and collating public data, cleaning and organising sheets
: general research on diverse topics, inc. sourcing & quizzing experts
: writing – blog posts, newsletter, social
: social media scheduling (via Buffer)
: developing & honing of proposals and concepts
: liaising with clients and collaborators
: light project-management on ongoing ideas

DETAILS
: 100% remote, flexitime, asychronous
: part time contract – 3 days per week (or equivalent 24 hours) per week (+ probable extra days here and there)
: initial 3 month contract (Dec-Feb)
: we are a low-to-no meetings employer!

renumeration
£225 / $275 / €260 per day
