Join our newly formed, forward-thinking design team at the Analytics Center of Excellence of Providence. As a senior product designer, you’ll contribute to the creation of intuitive and impactful dashboard designs within BI tools, directly contributing to the elevation of our organization’s design maturity. This position requires collaboration with fellow product designers, design researchers, and cross-functional partners to advance design competency for data products. Strong communication, empathy-building skills, and proficiency in data visualization are essential as you engage with newcomers to design to provide expert consultation. As a senior product designer, you’ll be at the core of our in-house design consultancy, aimed at transforming and advancing our approach to design across the organization.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree Human Computer Interaction, Design, Data Visualization, Data Analytics, or related field. Or equivalent educ/experience.
  • Experience in human-centered design, UI/UX product design, data analytics, data visualization or related experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • You champion the concept of “big design”.
    • You hold a belief in design as a transformative tool, not limited to user interfaces but as a strategy for organizational growth.
    • You have outstanding design leadership, are skilled at interacting with people and maximizing the design impacts.
    • While proficient in Figma, you appreciate that design transcends specific tools, embracing versatility in platforms like Power BI.
  • You have a solid foundation in design basics.
    • You have a deep understanding of design patterns for enterprise products.
    • You are a systematic thinker who can articulate design decisions backed by clear rationales.
    • You are a strategic thinker who balances attention to detail with a focus on overarching goals.
  • You are interested in designing data products.
    • You have a strong interest and proven experience in data visualization, design systems and dashboard design.
  • You are not limited to interaction design.
    • You have an independent visual aesthetic that respects the value of visual design in enhancing product appeal, without succumbing to fleeting design trends.
    • Light front-end development skills are appreciated but not mandatory.

Hourly Salary Range by location: 

  • NorCal (Napa, Sonoma): $55.35 ~ $89.11
  • Southern California, NorCal (Humboldt): $49.34 ~ $79.42
  • WA Puget Sound, Oregon (Portland): $47.33 ~ $76.19

Work Shift:

The position operates on a flexible schedule: 8 hours per day, with mandatory core hours from 9AM to 3PM PST.

Work Authorization:

  • This position is fully remote; however, due to specific regulatory and operational constraints, we are unable to extend offers to candidates based in New York, Colorado, Hawaii, Pennsylvania, and Massachusetts at this time.
